I have not the skill on this bloggin' yet so bare with me. The first idea I am tinkering with is a home made smelting furnace. First off, I came up with the idea when I was browsing the internet on another idea. This person was building a furnace which is called a crucible or smelting oven for melting metals. I looked up many ways how and what melting ovens looked like and some were pretty lame. One guy had a set-up which intrigued me most when he put together out of a popcorn tin can, cement, and some other odd stuff for a backyard melting oven. He was melting alluminum, copper, brass and other light metals, and pouring them into cupcake molds. (Lisa would killed me if I had done that). So the idea was born... I now was thinking, pondering, drawing and planning which came to the hard part.......Finding the materials I needed and building it. Times up and I'm tired but I will get more into detail on my next visit with photos and all to take you on the next adventure.
Merry Christmas!!

I can't wait until we have a minute to add the pics! It sounds great so far!
Andrea, yeah- you should see how many of Benji's ideas (thought up all on his own, pondered, and many times built to proto-type) we find out are actually already out there. It's nice to know that we're on the right track, though!
Ok so this might sound stupid but what is a crucible used for and what are you going to do with it when it's done?
